Teddy Bears have been a childhood favourite for kids all over the world for over 100 years, and Handbrake has taken a trip down memory lane to reimagine one of our faves for 2024.

In the “Toybox Nostalgia” series Handbrake explores the mortality of our cherished memories by presenting beloved childhood toys with internal skeletons; reminding us that even our memories and our pasts are mortal. All things will one day end.

Yeah that might be a little grim, but they’re still super cute!

The three original canvas paintings in the “Toybox Nostalgia” series (“Teddy”, “Ducky”, and “Rocking Horse”) were first revealed in Handbrake’s 2024 solo exhibition “Chaos Concludes” and this is the original of “Teddy” – now available for sale. Painted with aerosol, acrylic, and graffiti ink markers this work is cute with a mixture of pop art and street aesthetics.

Created on 2.5 inch thick stretched canvas (unframed) and available now for the first time since the exhibition.
