Description
The Joker in the acclaimed “Rope Skulls” series is a bold blend of aerosol, acrylic, silver leaf, and epoxy resin set into an ornate and impressive frame.
This piece was the last to be painted in the tryptic and is a striking, bold exploration of anatomy on a dark and gritty aerosol fade background.
This work is painted on deep stretched canvas and features the main subject (the Joker’s skull) created out of ropes, overlapping one another, and reminiscent of underlying human muscle. Both the teeth and the Joker’s hat have been rendered in copper leaf that catches the light from certain angles, and the entire piece is encased in high-gloss epoxy resin to give it a wavy glass-like finish. This surface give the work an added textural element and increases the contrast of the bold black outlines.
Framed exceptionally and ready to hang.
